Recognizing Leadership in Sustainable Transportation

Electric Vehicle Adoption Leadership (EVAL) is a national workplace charging certification program funded by the U.S. Department of Energy to provide recognition and technical assistance to organizations supporting the adoption of clean employee transportation options.

Employers gain certification points by filling out a questionnaire that assesses their efforts toward promoting clean transportation at their workplaces and supporting employees to travel sustainably. This can include the availability of electric vehicle (EV) charging, options for carpooling, biking and public transportation as well as incentives for sustainable employee commute options.

Why EV Charging at Workplace?

It is projected that by 2030, there will be 26 million EVs on the road in the United States.

Checkmark

1.3 million workplace chargers will be needed for employees without access to charging at home.

Checkmark

Many commuters live in multifamily housing or in densely populated communities without driveways or garages with easy access to charge a vehicle. They will require access to charging.

Workplaces are ideal sites and critical solutions to building a reliable and equitable public charging infrastructure that accelerates transportation electrification to support the nation’s net-zero emission goals.
